ivan moult

Ivan Moult made a long anticipated return with his third album 'Songs From Severn Grove' in May, having received radio support from BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio Wales, 100k+ plays on Soundcloud, and featuring on Folk Radio UK for his critically acclaimed 'Lazy Day' in 2014; Ivan's sophomore album 'Longest Shadow' released in 2018, awarded him festival slots at Cornbury Festival, Folk on The Dock and Festival of Voice, as well as landing support slots with This Is The Kit, Becca Mancari and Willy Mason.

With the bar set high, the new record hosts many firsts with all instruments played, recorded, engineered and mixed by Ivan at his home studio in Cardiff. The album charts a journey of growth - beginning in lockdown during the 2020 pandemic, musically documenting the trials and tribulations of fatherhood following the birth of his first son, navigating new compromises, and developing a strengthened love.

His best work to date is presented to us as Ivan's voice is centre stage, with layered harmonies added to the soundscape of delay-soaked electric guitars, and essentials-only drums and bass. Drawing from new life experiences, musical influences from the likes of J.J. Cale, Nina Simone and Tim Buckley, along with the freedom to create at his leisure; Ivan's original and unique sound remains recognisably present, creating a fusion of 1960s/70s folk and blues merged with a contemporary sound.
